Stables Felling Dates: Winter 1839/40
Site Master 1656-1839 (yellow pine) MLSCx1 (t = 8.08 MGGAx1; 7.48 GEORGIA2; 6.99 TCNCx12).
The stables at Milford Plantation are a frame, one-story-and-loft building that is 52 feet wide by 106 feet long. Three corners are taken up by porticos, leaving the enclosed portion of the building nearly cruciform in plan.
Dendrochronological analysis has shown that the building was constructed from timbers felled in the winter of 1839/40, suggesting that the stables were constructed at this time or shortly thereafter.
