The barn at Kendal at Longwood is a multi-bay, two-story Pennsylvania bank barn constructed of stone and timber with a later framed addition to the east end.
Dendrochronological analysis has shown that amongst the timbers used to construct the barn were timbers felled in the spring of 1736 and the spring of 1856 and a third timber felled sometime after 1841. However, all of these timbers had obvious signs of reuse, meaning that each was originally used in another structure and then later repurposed for use in this barn. The felling dates therefore cannot be taken as construction dates for the primary barn at Kendal at Longwood, which remains undated at this time.
