The Hoke House is a small log house originally built as worker housing for the Catoctin Iron Furnace. Dendrochronological analysis has shown that the building was constructed from timbers felled over a span of time ranging from the summer of 1816 to the winter of 1820/1, suggesting that the house was constructed at this latter time or shortly thereafter.
