Primary Phase of House Felling Dates: Winter 1829/30, Winter 1827/8
Site Master 1705-1829 (yellow pine) HHGAx1 (t = 5.73 ESWVx1; 5.72 MGGAx1; 5.66 LLS3).
The William Harris Homestead is a one-and-a-half story, two-room log house with shed roof additions on the front and rear. The logs are joined by half notches, which require pegging at the corners but no angled cutting. Inside the logs are exposed, and the structure has been beautifully restored. (Description courtesy of Mark Reinberger.))
Dendrochronological analysis has shown that the building was constructed from timbers felled in the winter of 1827/8 and the winter of 1829/30.
